Long time, no post.. Sorry!

3/1/2018

 Hey there everyone!

I hope each and everyone of you is doing wonderfully! Things have been pretty crazy busy over here... From battling mono (still working on getting better; yay for pharmaceuticals!), illustrating a children's books series for a Chinese ESL company for Chinese children, to getting ready for events (including my own!), and trying to work my "normal people job," has certainly been a doozey!

I've been busting out a bunch of art for our game that we are making in partnership with Metaverse AR for an exclusive augmented gaming experience at Gojotekicon 2018! It has been a great joy making all the different story lines, artwork, and interactive experiences for the attendees. We are really excited for people to play (as well as ourselves)!

Outside of that, I have been working on getting organized for the upcoming convention season- from revamping the website some, to continued work on more merchandise, and prints! I am trimming back my convention appearances some this year in Artist Alley, to focus more on event planning and some personal goals, but am definitely very much involved in the art scene! Please let me know if there is somewhere in particular (art shows, conventions, etc.) you would like me to apply and I will certainly try to do so!

As for upcoming conventions for 2018, be sure to say hello at Animatic Con, Geek Out 5.0, and Asheville Anime Regional Convention! I'll be at the Gojotekicon table at Tekko, Trot Con, and Buckeye Pop! I will also be at Colossalcon having a great time, as always, so be sure to say hey if you see me! I'll update as more conventions get added to the list for 2018! Hope to see you all at some or all of these events!

Additionally, "The Adventures of Nekosan" will be updated here in the future; I know there's been some concern from some fans.

Finally, commissions are open! If there is anything that you would like commissioned, please email me at glarebeware@gmail.com, the "commissions" page, or Facebook.

Hi all!

Sorry it has been awhile! I have diligently been working on getting the next installment of "The Adventures of Nekosan" up; day job, life, ya know has been getting in the way of that a little. So please bare with me on that getting to you.

In terms of conventions coming up- be on the look out for the Gojotekicon table at various conventions in the next few months; once I have confirmation I will post where we'll be and any fun activities you can participate in at our table.
Glare Beware will be at AnimaticCon once again for 2018 and I surely cannot wait. If you haven't been to this con yet, it is in Cincinnati and is March 23-25. They are working hard towards promoting Autism awareness and donating some of their profits to local charities. Check out this awesome "con with a cause!"
After that you can find the Glare Beware table at Asheville Anime Regional Convention in July, which is becoming a 2 day convention! That one is in Asheville, NC, so if you're in that area, I'd love to see you there!

Like I mentioned before, this year I am focusing more on my own convention, Gojotekicon, and less on participating in Artist Alleys, as of now. So if there is a specific con that you want to see me at as an artist, send an email for Facebook message to me, and I will do my best to apply.

In the mean time, here is an update from the upcoming release of the Adventures of Nekosan. Enjoy!

Hi everyone!

Thanks to everyone that came out to Kentokyocon and Asheville Anime Regional Convention! Both were such a great time, and we hope to return in the future!
Next up isn't a convention, but it is a charity chalk walk in Lexington, KY called Via Colori. That will be happening October 21st-22nd. If you're interested in sponsoring an artist you can do so at their website. Hope to see a few familiar faces!

For plans in 2018, I will be taking a little bit of a hiatus from Artist Alleys. Not that I don't want to participate or anything, but I need to focus on making Gojotekicon 2018 an awesome weekend! As many of you know, I am one of the convention chairs for Gojotekicon, and planning a 72 hour convention experience certainly do take a while to put together. I will be at other conventions promoting Gojotekicon, so I won't be disappearing all together; just putting a little less emphasis on my artist tables.
This will also give me the opportunity to update The Adventures of Nekosan more frequently, too. As always, if there are any conventions in particular that you would want to see my artist table, send me a message and I will try and apply.

Finally, commissions are also something that I am going to try and put more emphasis on going forward. I love working on commissioned pieces. I will be working on getting the website updated to stream line the commission request process and include my price sheet.

Welcome!

It's been a little since I have updated the behind the scenes here, so I do apologize. Thank you to those of you that came out to Gojotekicon 2017! We had such a successful first year! If you haven't yet, head over to the Facebook page and give it a like. We will be returning in 2018 for another year! Once again we will bring you Ashland's only animation, gaming, and comic convention May 4-6, 2018. We are already working on guest line ups and music performers. So be sure to follow our Facebook for more details on that.

We had an amazing weekend at Colossalcon as well. I did not have a table this year, but had a wonderful time catching up with friends. Thank you again for all of those that make the first weekend of June the best weekend. Hopefully I will see some of you at Colossalcon East!

Thank you to everyone that came out to Geek Out 4.0! It was a fantastic weekend with fantastic friends, both new and old! It was great to see so many talented artists, performers, and musical guests. As always it was a blast and I am stoked for the 0.5 event in December. If you get a chance, you should check it out. It is a lot of fun for those that enjoy the outdoors and geeking out with fellow geeks.

I am also super pumped to go and speak to teens this weekend for the summer reading program at the Carnegie Public Library in Washington Court House, OH! I am so excited to come out and discuss making manga with aspiring young people!

Next we turn our attention to Anime Midwest! I will be out there to promote Gojotekicon! That is in Chicago next weekend. So if you're in the area be sure to stop by the Gojotekicon table and say, "Hi!"

After that, I will be at the Asheville Anime Regional Convention in Asheville, NC on July 29th, 2017!! I have not been that far south for my art yet, and words cannot begin to express how excited I am to meet those of you that are in that area! Be sure to stop by and get your con exclusive print!

Finally, in August I will be at Kentokyocon in Lexington, KY! This will be my first year attending and I cannot wait to check this one out! Again, there will be a con exclusive print for this one as well; get your's before they're gone!

Alrighty, outside of conventions- I have been working on writing and illustrating children's books for Chinese students that are learning English as a second language! I am so happy to say that my stories will be reaching 30,000+ kids through VIPKid! This has been a huge project that I have been working on, and continuing to work on. So, I apologize now if there are some delays in the release of "The Adventures of Nekosan." Just know, it does get worked on daily!

Hope to see you around at some of the conventions!

Until next time friends! <3

2.5 Weeks Until Gojotekicon!

4/17/2017

Hello there!

Thank you to all that came out to Tekko, Animatic Con, A & G Con, and Woo-Con! This past month and a half has been filled with a variety of wonderful conventions! We have been so busy putting together everything to get Gojotekicon ready in just 2.5 weeks! I am so incredibly excited to be hosting a few panels: 21+ Drink and Draw,  a how to make manga panel, as well as 18+ Cards Against Humanity. Please head on over to www.gojotekicon.com to see all the amazing cosplay guests, artists and dealers, musical guests, panelists, and events. C.A.N.E. and Cosplay Foam Fighting will each have approximately half and acre each. Not to mention there is a huge nature preserve across the street for photo ops with all the wild flowers.

Outside of Gojotekicon, I am so excited to announce that I will be making an appearance in Washington Court House, Ohio at the Carnegie Public Library on Saturday, July 1st, 2017. There I will be speaking to people ages 12-18 for the Manga & Anime Program! I am so excited and honored to be invited to speak in association with the summer reading program! Hope to see some of you there!

Additionally, I am currently writing and illustrating educational books for ESL students in China. As some of you may already know, I work for a company based in China that teaches English as a Second Language to students. I was selected to write and illustrate books for them! This has been a great experience and I am excited to have my work published with them.

In the realm of convention appearances- I am so happy to announce that I will be at Geek Out 4.0 June 9th-11th at Hannon's Camp America in College Corners, OH. After that, I will be at Anime Midwest representing Gojotekicon July 7th-9th in Chicago, IL. I'll be selling comics and art at the Asheville Anime Regional Convention July 29th in Asheville, NC. Also, I will be selling comics and art at Kentokyocon August 18th-20th in Lexington, KY. Stay tuned as always for more convention appearances and news! All of these are wonderful conventions, and if you are in the area- I totally suggest that you stop by and check them out. There are so many awesome events, panels, and artists at these events! I hope to see you at some of them.

Finally, in regard to "The Adventures of Nekosan," the new release will be out in the third week of May. Feel free to follow me on social media for more frequent updates! Also, volumes 3 & 4 will be available for purchase through the store within the coming weeks! Thanks all for your continued support!

What's Going On?!

1/31/2017

Greetings!

We hope that all is well with each of you! There has been a lot going on this past month here at Glare Beware! I am pleased to announce that Glare Beware is officially an LLC! So that is an exciting new milestone in the realm of business! Yay!

Other than business stuff, I have been working on getting the con exclusive prints ready for both A&G Con as well as Animatic Con. I plan to be posting some WIPs in the near future on my Instagram, follow me over at @glarebeware, if you aren't already, to get a look at those within the coming weeks.
I have also been working on new postcards, bookmarks, t-shirt designs (more on that later), and a newly designed sticker that will be debuted this March!

Aside from designing those, I have begun work on a new series I am illustrating with a writer that I was commissioned by at Tsubasacon. It is called "The American Ranger." I am still working closely on getting the first volume out, as well as back end details; so keep an eye out for that information coming within the next for months!

Finally, "The Adventures of Nekosan" will be out later this week! I have been working so hard on getting this release out sooner; however, there has been quite a bit going on! (I also teach/ interview in addition to all my artsy things. Plus, my birthday is this Friday!)

Check out below for a sneak peek into what will be happening next!

As always, enjoy!
